BeReady

Preaparing for Jesus' Return

I like to have a focus of challenging us to be ready with anticipation for the soon coming of the Lord Jesus. That day should not come upon believers as 'a thief'. There is a crown and rewards for those who love His appearing and have prepared.

ColumnistRapture of the Church
by Bart(23)

Lately there have been a lot of discussions over various biblical doctrines and beliefs of the church. One such discussion is about the Rapture of the church. The following is more about the position I hold to and why, than anything else, and was originally written to defend the teaching of the Rapture, to a group of young men who deny it altogether. I would like to give an overview here, and if there is interest, I can follow on with a more in depth study of the various views and teachings on this matter. In studying about the ‘Rapture’ I was surprised to discover that most Christian faiths believe in a calling away of God’s church. I find this intriguing as there is... Who Are You and Where Are You Going?
by Bart(23)

I heard a story about a first century Rabbi who was traveling from one town to another. As he was walking along, meditating and praying, he inadvertently took a wrong path, which led him into territory that Jews were not allowed to go. He was startled when he came face to face with a Roman soldier. As he looked up at this soldier, he heard his booming voice saying, “Who are you Jew, and where are you going?” Thinking quickly, this Rabbi answered, “How much do they pay you for saying these things to people like me?” The Roman soldier replied, “A denarius, but what’s that to you? The Rabbi responded, “I’ll double your wage, if you come to my... (read the rest of what Bart wrote.)

Going Through the Gate
by Bart(23)

Gates are significant in the Word of God. They have several purposes, some obvious, and some with great significance for the church, and the follower of Christ. A gate leads from one atmosphere to another. When we enter a gate at someone's home, we enter from the world into a person's private property. Cities have gates, though in the form of a boundary line, yet very real. Often a city (officials) would recognize a special community ‘hero’ with a key to the city. This key unlocks nothing, but grants the holder access to anything within the city; it is symbolic. In the Bible, gates, among other things, grant access to cities. The best example I can give is the future... (read the rest of what Bart wrote.)

Thoughts on the Resurrection
by Bart(23)

With the Easter season upon us I have been meditating on things pertaining to the resurrection and would like to share a few thoughts with you. I love details, and the Word of God is full of them; little words or expressions that we sometimes pass over without much thought, which are often times the words or expressions that unlock a world of truth to us. There are such truths associated with the resurrection, and not just the resurrection of our Lord Jesus, but our future resurrection as well. Jn 20:11-18 " But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, (12) And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head... Made in His Image?
by Bart(23)

I just read an article where French physicist and philosopher, Bernard d'Espagnat, has won this years Templeton Prize (The Templeton Prize is awarded each year to a person whom the judges believe " has made an exceptional contribution to affirming life's spiritual dimension, whether through insight, discovery, or practical works. " ), for his concept of a 'Veiled Reality'. His work in quantum mechanics demonstrates that there is a reality that lies behind the one that we can touch and feel. It is a reality that is far more than can be explained by the three dimensions we can directly experience. When we consider the creation account in Genesis, it would seem to indicate that Adam and...
