I have had the privilege of teaching Sunday school to children and tweens for quite sometime now. Over these years, I have used various pre-packaged curriculum. If you are teaching Sunday school, you are probably aware of many of them yourself.
This is why I am so impressed with the Hands on Bible in the New Living Translation. It is filled with countless teaching tools and hands on craft ideas.
The craft ideas are great for me, as I am not a crafty person. This, however, is not what impressed me most.
I found this Bible beneficial when it came to my personal study time, and its tools proved useful in my adult classes as well.
Here is one example of the many charts/tools that you will find in this Bible:
The Beginning and the End
Genesis Revelation
* The sun created * The sun not needed
* Satan is Victorious * Satan is defeated
* Sin enters human race * Sin is defeated
There are many more on this chart. You can imagine how many lessons can come from having this information readily available.
Space does not allow me to give examples of all of the charts and graphs available. Yet I can't end without listing a few more by name:
* Systems of Sacrifice: Old system VS New system
* The Offerings and Jesus: Offering, significance, and Purpose
* Jesus' Appearance after His resurrection
There is no end to the level of study this Bible can bring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a new believer, or a seasoned believer. I find myself going back to it often as great points of reference and the simple explanations of difficult passages keep God's word fresh.
Using this Bible in conjunction with my "New Spirit – Filled Life Bible" (NKJV), and concordance, has brought well-rounded tools for personal study, growth, and teaching. I highly recommend it.

Hi David, thanks for stopping by. It is a great resource. They also have a kit and books with the pre-printed lessons. In this kit are lots of props for the suggested skit's
I love using the bible itself because it gives the freedom to come up with your own lesson but the pre-printed lessons are awesome for brand new teachers and busy parents who teach and may not have as much time to build their own lesson.
I think you would enjoy this Bible. The NLT is a great version for young readers - well, any one really. I keep it handy for a second resource to my KJV, NKJV.
You can't miss it, it is bright blue with grean, red, and blue stripes with kids' faces on it. :-) If you find it, please let me know how you like it.
Blessings! Teresa

Teresa, I've not heard of this one. Is it a translation or a paraphrase? We have discovered the ESV, English Standard Version and are very pleased with it. Thanks for the info!Respond to this comment

Hi Lorrie,
It is a Translation. I hadn't paid much attention to it, until 4 years ago, when our youth pastor decided to use it to teach the elementary school aged children. It is modern day english, so the wording is often different than the NKJV, but I think it does a good job, and I saw first hand how much more these young kids understood what they were reading and they actually participated a lot more in class. Like I said, I go back to it on occasion for quick reference helps because there are so many great charts in it.
I enjoy the ESV as well, but I do have my favorite :-)

Hi Michelle, I do love it for teaching young kids. Many of my 5th graders used it to put together 10 minutes studies that they were anxious to share with the rest of the class. It's great!
