Don't Look to the Stones, But to the Rock

by Marijo Phelps(180) Red Star

Sometimes as I walk the narrow path

I get to looking down at the stones

Then I see my weary feet

Kicking dust on my aching bones

Now my toes are blistered,cut

I can go no further today

I stumble and bumble upon a rock

Just in time to hear someone say

" Take my hand for I know the way

You're weak but I am strong "

I reached out and was lifted to HIS arms

We almost floated along

This is the way it always should be

Though my feet were blistered still

When I put my trust in the Master's hand

He helped me dance up that hill

It seemed like an impossible mountain before

With my eyes on the cutting stone

But after I lifted them to the mighty ROCK

It became a delightful path to His throne!!

Amen Marijo, your poems always seem to come in the form of a prayer, your heart always comes through, it is the heart of our gentle yet mighty God. Big hugs, T
