Pensive Seeking
I see your gentleness
In the morning sun,
Through shutters,
With fluttering shadows
Of rhythmic waving oaken leaves
I feel your softness
In the warm peacefulness
Of an August afternoon
Turned autumn
Though only for a day
I remember other lives
I have lived
With fondness
Knowing had I not been there
I wouldn't be here now
And I know,
That as yet
For every yesterday passed
I still have
At least one tomorrow.
Pensive Persuasion
Fright fraught
Savior sought
Truth taught
Fiends fought
Is he really still God today
Or historical and then went away
Can you believe what he has to say
Can he be real to me this day?
Christ caught
Blood bought
Angst aught
Wonders wrought
He truly died for me
Lifted up for all to see
Did not run or flee
Paid to set me free.
