Gentle Chastisement Devotional (Words from the Lord series)
My child, you strive when you should rest.
You bubble over with requests when you could just cuddle in My arms.
You strive to hear,
When I AM doing nothing but fondly gaze at you.
BE in my presence so I can refresh and renew you.
Know that I AM Your God and you are "my people". Selah.
Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (NIV)
Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (NIV)
Mark 6:31
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." (NIV)
Prayer: Dear Father, I seem to hear you speaking about rest so often. Open my eyes so they might see and my ears so they might hear. Please teach me more about what it means to rest in You! AMEN

The ones formatted like this and having "words from the Lord" in the title are short and sweet (hopefully) then I "revised" many of them and added object lessons to the originals and commented more on the application of the scriptures - that is the group I am posting now along with some brand new things, of course. Thanks for reading - hope your unpacking is almost done - that old battle of the boxes!
