Seasons Devotional (Words from the Lord series)

by Marijo Phelps(199) Red Star

You see the flowers of my creation, they have seasons and cycles. They bloom and grow and bloom then grow and gain strength to bloom again. The flower with its allure and fragrance is not always visible, yet it is still an iris or a rose and recognized as such.

Song of Solomon 2:12
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. (NIV)

Song of Solomon 6:11
[ Lover ] I went down to the grove of nut trees to look at the new growth in the valley, to see if the vines had budded or the pomegranates were in bloom. (NIV)

Isaiah 35:2
it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. (NIV)

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please help me through those times when there is no evident bloom. Help me to grow deep roots and cling to you even more then. Even in the pruning, Lord, help me not to wince but to give a joyful response. All that is not of You needs to go. AMEN

It's been a long "winter", I am looking forward to the "spring" Seasons are necessary for growth and newness of life. Sometimes its hard to remember that is is just that. A season. God bless you abundantly. It's wonderful when the Scripture does the talking.

Thanks so much for coming by and reading - I have re-written this one with a bit more amplification but am hard pressed to tell you the title right now!
