September

A definite nip in the air
The evenings are drawing in earlier
Time for books and a comfortable chair
The harvest is now safely gathered
The fruit of earth, vine and grain
The farmer’s worries are behind him
Whether too much or too little rain
Summer holidays are stored away memories
To cheer us through long winter nights
And birds follow innate callings southward
As they make their migrational flights
Our world is beginning to wind down
Leaves are falling and plants have set seed
Rhythms of nature continue unceasing
These laws we necessarily heed
September, and the slowing down season
The time for storing safely away
Prepares for winter, then finally breaking
In Spring's bright resurrection day.

No there is nothing more to this one, just a stray "in" to edit out. I hadn't noticed it retained the green format, but will leave that for the moment.Respond to this comment
