Intercessions For Those In Leadership

In our weakness, Holy Spirit

Help us to pray

 Lord we pray for all in Government and leadership in our land.

During these difficult economic times give them wisdom, and we particularly pray for the poor both at home and abroad who are often hit hardest.

In our weakness, Holy Spirit

Help us to pray

We pray for all who minister in your Church..

for those who sometimes feel like failures..that they will offer to Christ their faithfulness and obedience

And for those who occasionally feel successful..that they will serve Christ in humility and dependence.

Grant that both may care for Christ's opinion more than man.

We pray for the worldwide Church and its leaders.

We pray that all who serve in every denomination will live so closely to You, that their lives, words and service will draw people to follow Christ.

In our weakness, Holy Spirit

Help us to pray

We pray that your Church family will support and sustain all families with which it has contact, particularly at times of change and crisis.

We pray for those who live in unhappy homes where there is tension and discord; for those who find no real joy in one another and continually get on each other's nerves. Lord there are so many pressures.. including money and time...small children..elderly relatives..

May Christ who was raised in an earthly family and enjoyed time spent in the home of friends strengthen all in the challenges of family life.

Help us to pray

Lord we pray especially at the end of term and the beginning of Holidays for Children and Young People. As we think of those whom we love, we thank you for the privilege of knowing them, and for those who are part of our Churches

Give them and their school staff a good holiday, time together with family and friends.

We pray for those who minister to the very young

We pray for those waiting for exam results, and the college or university places that depend on them.

In our weakness, Holy Spirit

Help us to pray

We thank you for those in work, who find fulfillment and reward in what they do day to day, or in the knowledge of a completed and satisfying career.

We ask for those unable to find work, those unwilling to try, and those who feel their work is monotonous or unfulfilling. May Christ who worked as a carpenter before beginning his ministry, give patience and strength.

Help us to pray

We pray for those who are ill in body, mind or spirit..those being nursed in hospital.. or at home with the particular strains and joys that presents.....

We ask specially for those suffering any kind of mental illness, who seem unable to receive any message of love from others or from yourself.

Let them know through caring people that YOU care for them,

Bring them and us to a place where the puzzle of life becomes plain and all things are woven into your plan.

Help us to pray

We pray for everyone involved in preaching the Gospel, in this country and abroad... particularly for missionaries supported by our churches.

Give us faith to believe that our caring can be used to release into lives what you, the all-seeing and all-loving God, know they need..

Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour

Jesus Christ. Amen
