Intercessions- Christ the Servant King

by Anne Linington(186) Red Star

This is our God

The Servant King

We thank you that Christ left His home in glory to come as a servant

We pray for all who leave their homes, families, and security to serve you in other places.

We ask you to keep them safe and to provide all they need to continue your work.

We pray too for the teams going out with Love to Russia, for safety and opportunities to show your love to the children and staff in the orphanages there.

This is our God

The Servant King

We thank you that Christ did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.

We pray for all those with responsibility in our churches: Youth and Sunday School leaders; Church Wardens; Church Council members including Secretaries and Treasurers; those who lead our worship in music; for those in training and for those who serve as Readers, Deacons and Priests.

Help us all to keep in mind our primary role of preaching Christ to a world in need, and seeing Christians grow in their faith.

We thank you Lord for all who give their lives and talents in the service of your Church.

This is our God!

The Servant King

We thank you for the example of loving service shown by Christ in washing the disciples feet.

Help each us of to find those places and people where we can show your love in acts of service to those who hunger physically and spiritually. Help us to offer the Bread of life that is Christ.

This is our God!

The Servant King

We thank you for the special concern and welcome Christ gave to those his society considered unacceptable: Tax collectors, prostitutes, lepers. We thank you that they knew that Christ would welcome them, eat with them, heal and forgive them.

Help us to minister to those whom our society finds unacceptable: the homeless; the unemployed; the disabled; the immigrant. Wherever we have our own prejudices, we pray that you will make us more Christ-like.

This is our God!

The servant King

We acknowledge Christ as the suffering servant, who shares our sorrows and carries our griefs.

We thank you Heavenly Father that Jesus has suffered all that we suffer and is able to comfort us in all our trials.

We pray for those experiencing pain, suffering or grief today. Comfort them we pray through your people- Christian family and friends, neighbours and caring professionals.

We ask especially for..........................

 This is our God!

The servant King

God In Christ

took up a cross of suffering

to show us

that there is no limit to

His love

So let us learn how to serve

And in our lives enthrone Him

Each others needs to prefer

For it is Christ we're serving..

This is our God!

The Servant King

Accept these prayers..

For the sake or your Son our Saviour

Jesus Christ.
