An Open Door
You set before me an open door
When others may so easily have closed it,
Taking me from the constriction of limited prospects
To the broad expanse of possibilities and adventure.
With your leading I step out into new worlds
Press on towards distant horizons
Knowing that behind even the blackest of clouds
The sun of your love still shines.
Imbue me with your vision, your hope,
Your confidence in all that can be achieved,
By simply being willing to step forward
Into something new.

This poem is based on a photograph of an open gate on Winchester Hill that I use as my sceensaver. Whilst looking at it God reminded me of the verse in Revelation "..I set before you an open door...". This was God's confirmation regarding an important decision in my life.
