Looking Unto Jesus
by Cheery Blossom(39)There are some failures in the lives of all of us, even as there are in some of the other parts of creation, or so it seems, yet God does all things well!
I read some interesting facts the other day, or some things that I presume are facts, I have never observed these things for myself, but here goes.
Bats cannot take off from a perfectly level area, until it reaches a slight incline, and then, they can fly.
Buzzards must run 10-12 feet in order to fly
If you put a Bumblebee into a glass, he will never fly out of the top. He will try to find a way out of the bottom of the glass until he destroys himself.
It seems to me that we, as humans, are every bit as limited as the ones that I have mentioned. Some of us do not put forth the effort to grow in our Christian life. If we must run 10 feet to take off (spend time studying God’s Word) we often never “fly.”
Some of us, like the bat, never make the effort to do a little effort to get them to an incline where it is possible to take off and fly.
And then, we have those who will not accept the only way to eternal life and keep searching around the base of reality, never finding their help and hope, because they never look up. True faith looks up to their creator and trusts in Him.
You will notice that Jesus Himself looked up when He blessed the loaves and the fishes. He knew that God Almighty would meet the people’s needs Luke 9:16
We are told to look for the blessed hope provided for us. Tit 2:13
Hebrews 5:9 tells us that when Jesus was made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
Let’s all look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, for the help that we need, and not exhaust ourselves with needless self-effort.

Hi Verna, Thanks for sharing these examples of creation, you make a great point. It takes effort and seeking the wisdom of God to grow in our faith. I appreciate all that you share! Blessings to you! TeresaPS should the verse be 1 Tim 2:13 or "In Tit 2:13" ? :-)
