LISTEN to My Whisperings Devotional (Words from the Lord Series)

by Marijo Phelps(198) Red Star

Daughter, it doesn’t always have to come to you what I am about to say for you to write (it).

I may choose to whisper a thought or word of encouragement into a corner of your mind for momentary encouragement, some too precious to be written, some too heavy to bear for more than that first moment; truths to be resurfaced over and over until you’re able and ready (open) to grasp and hold them, coming up gradually as a red sunrise.

Awesome revelations, perhaps they are frightening at first glance, but real and “normal" as they unfold embellishment with a fire that creates a beauty, special beauty even greater than the daily sunsets.

Cling to those revelations as I bring them up. You will learn them and make them part of you as I deem you able to stretch and grow; as you yield to My molding.

You cannot yield unless you recognize that you are holding back…. Rest in Jesus as He does His life redeeming work within you! Selah.

PS 51 “let the bones which thou hast broken rejoice"

Psalm 51

For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,

according to your unfailing love;

according to your great compassion

blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash away all my iniquity

and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,

and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned

and done what is evil in your sight,

so that you are proved right when you speak

and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,

sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts [ a ] ;

you teach [ b ] me wisdom in the inmost place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;

wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear joy and gladness;

let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Hide your face from my sins

and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,

and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me from your presence

or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation

and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,

and sinners will turn back to you.

14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God,

the God who saves me,

and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

15 O Lord, open my lips,

and my mouth will declare your praise.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;

you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

17 The sacrifices of God are [ c ] a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart,

O God, you will not despise.

18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper;

build up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices,

whole burnt offerings to delight you;

then bulls will be offered on your altar.

Prayer: Lord God, at first it sounds SO hard to ask that the bones which You have broken rejoice. But You don’t want me to walk with a limp or not walk at all. You are the Great Physician and know what needs to be done for complete healing and wholeness. I submit to Your ultimate wisdom and Your Physician’s hand. I also place my hand in Yours as You continue to make and remake me – WHOLE in You. Amen

This is one of my all time favorite scriptures. It always makes me examine myself and I always come up short. Thanks for sharing and God Bless. Linda D

 And we always will come up short - it is nothing but the BLOOD of Jesus applied to our hearts and lives - whew, that takes a load off because it isn't you and it isn't me - it is HIM! And Jesus came to set this captive FREE (and came for you!!!! What most incredible news !!!! HE paid the price we couldn't pay - for each other or for ourselves.... yes, I too love this scripture because it reminds me again of His incredible PAID price and sacrifice... wow, Linda he knew you and me then and He definitely knows us still - JAW DROPPING.

E-hugs!  Marijo

Marijo, Thank-YOU! I needed this! I first read it shortly after you submitted it; and didn't have time to comment, or even read all through. I had this question for the Lord, and myself, and wondered about writing only after I felt I had an entire message, or as I felt a desire to; but with only a word, or thought or truth combined with a memory. reading the first part of this was like the LORD speaking directly to me! Answering me, and i never even imagined others might have this question too. AWESOME! Thank-you. wish i would of let you know about this sooner, and hope others who read articles on here leave comments for writers when they feel Blessed, esp. as the LORD speaks specifically to us. Thanks : )

 Thank you for writing to me and your encouraging comments. HE is able and it never hurts to sit with pen and notebook in hand and listen to what He is laying on your heart. Glad this encouraged you - some of these things He laid on my heart over 30 years ago and they are still valid today!
