What If I Hadn’t Listened Devotional
by Marijo Phelps(250)
“Thou hast turned my mourning into dancing for me"
And given me cleared eyes with which to see
A clean heart which reaches out to You
Freedom, deliverance, joy and a life anew
I ponder what would have happened
If I’d turned and walked away
When you persistently knocked on my door
That now long ago day
And I thank You, oh, I thank you
That my heart You did pursue
That You dogged my every footstep
Till I turned and embraced You!
Psalm 30:11
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness. (KJV)
Psalm 30:11
You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness. (Amplified)
Prayer: Dearest Jesus, I tried to ditch you and dodge you – leave you far behind. Every time I turned around you were there reaching out and kind. Maybe it was through “coincidence" or a co-worker who had your heart. You touched and smiled and spoke to me trying to win my heart. I finally got a picture of the incredible “NEED" in me – the need to call out to you and finally be set free. You met me at that point of need and turned my heart to You. And I cannot ever thank you enough for all you are and do. AMEN
