The Key To Spiritual Growth Doesn't Fit Every Church Door!

What does a new Christian do, to fufill his desire to follow the Apostle Paul’s heart cry? ”I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. " Philippians 3:14 KJV
I am certain that each of us, when we realize what a price Christ paid for our salvation, has the deepest desire to follow the narrow path that God has asked us to walk. “Because, straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” Matthew 7:14 KJV
The scriptures also tell us that faith without works is dead!
“Even so, faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone.” James 2:17 KJV
“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only” James 2:24KJV
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James2:26KJV
Actually, reading all of James 2, would give one a clearer understanding of Gods expectation for His children.
Now, back to my original thought. What does a new Christian do, to grow in Christ? One obvious answer is to read and search and apply Gods Word. The Bible is “God’s Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth” Saturating one’s self in God’s Word will drive us to our knees, humbly admitting that we are not capable of following Him in our own power. That is why Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to cleanse us and lead us in Gods Way. The Spirit is the power by which we walk!
You will also find that we are told not to forsake the assembling of our selves together. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. “ Hebrews 10:25 KJV
Now, this takes me back t6o the statement with which I named this article. Basically, how do we find the right church to gather together in?
Another scripture, to consider “But there were false prophets, also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bringing upon their selves, swift destruction” II Peter 2:1
We can see this clearly today, as churches relax their standards, and many, totally spurn Gods Word, to take part in proclaiming their viewpoint of God’s Word, stating that this is a different age in which we live. The scriptures tell us, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 KJV Jesus is the Word, and He is the final Word! We will never find that a church that does not teach this, will give us the key to Spiritual growth. There are churches which will lead us down the wrong path. There are those churches who do not exalt Jesus Christ as Gods Son, who died for us that we might have eternal life, those who accept homosexuality as a lifestyle, and those that accept killing babies before they are born, etc. I would say to read Matthew chapter 23, especially verse 13.
Below are scriptures which speak on the wrong teaching about the things that I have listed above. May God help us to be wise. Check the scripture, before we embrace the teaching of many churches.
John 14:6 KJV “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me “
I Cor. 6:9KJV “Know ye not that unrighteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God”………. (a list of named sins…among which is,) “nor abusers of themselves with mankind.”
Luke 17:2KJV “It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he be cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
