Musicians, Tune Your Instruments Before the Concert

by Cheery Blossom(28)

Good morning, Christians,

The title of this devotional seems almost ridiculous. Did you ever know a musician who did not tune his instrument before starting the performance? It would be much more ridiculous to tune an instrument after the sour notes began to pour out to an audience.

Yet, how many times have we Christians hurriedly started our day, without checking our hearts to be sure that we are in tune with God? We wait until we struggle through the day, and then try to tune our heart after the problems of the day. We beseech God; cry out to Him, begging Him to forgive all of the harsh words that we spoke, the many errors that we made during the day past.

Like a musician, we would avoid much conflict and criticism if we would only get into God’s Word to begin our day, ask for God’s presence to guide us, and tune our heart to Him. Satan will do everything in his power to prevent that precious time of communion with God.

Remember God’s Words of encouragement and promise. Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee. Psalms 119:11. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Proverbs 8:17. A few quality moments with God, gives us strength and constant communion with Him. He is the only one that can fine tune our hearts and make us truly ready for this day’s concert of our lives.

Let’s tune our lives, and our Director will help us to remain in tune with Him and go through our day with joy and peace.

Only a moment with Jesus

Will make our problems grow dim.

The way will be come much smoother

As we commit our moments to Him.
