Troubled with many ties and responsibilities I was feeling really weird and tired of life. It was such a feeling that nobody will want to be in such feeling ever. It’s a feeling that neither could I share it with anybody nor could I do something about it.
Many times we face such times in our life and we feel so weird. Too much work pressure, too much family responsibilities, financial crisis, problems with colleagues at work place, boss’s scolding and weird & partial behaviour and at last sicknesses give rise to this kind of situation or feelings within deep down our hearts. We feel as if we are attacked by many enemies at one particular time.
As I was feeling the way I described I remember one character that has always fascinated me with his emotional dealings with God. David, a man after God’s own heart, was such an emotional being who had reflected the true picture of a true believer.
In his 43rd psalm he cries out to God for the situation he was going through. In verse 1 & 2, he says, “Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; rescue me from deceitful and wicked men. You are God my stronghold. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?”
I found it really funny reading these two contradicting statements of David. Firstly he says “You are God my stronghold” and the very next moment he asks, “Why have you rejected me?” I laughed at myself realizing that how many times I must have prayed like this which is literally uncountable. We believe and know that He is in control still we have that emotion towards our God and we express ourselves in desperation.
I was consoled by David’s statements as I realized that if he could feel that way why cant I, a mere man.
The next few verses were more assuring when he prays and requests God to show His light and truth for his guidance. Yes! I thought! That’s what I and we all need, ‘HIS all powerful WORD’ which is both light and truth to guide us when we are in desperation. And he shows his confidence in His word which can refresh and revive him and can give him joy.
David concludes by consoling his own heart by saying, “Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
Yes! He is the one in whom I can trust and praise Him for all His goodness in my life.
May God help us all!

I am glad you posted a photo - before I didn't know if you were a "brother" or a "sister"! I read PS 119 yesterday and saw much of David's heart - he is such an encouragement to me - with the sometimes emotional roller coaster he is on AND to know that he was a man after God's own heart....thanks for giving us more insights in this piece.Respond to this comment

Thanks Sister Marijo!
Psalm 119 is another beautiful Psalm which talks about HIS WORD only. I just love them all.
David was as humble as a child thats why he was a man after God's own heart.

This was an article that was not only well done, but will be a revelation to the most of us of just how unpredictable we really are. DAvids emotions surely describe many of us. We are just too human sometimes. I with you, say, God help us all. Great job.Respond to this comment
