There are many old sayings that really intrigue me, because of the great truth that they carry. One of these sayings is, “apple pie without the cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze.”

Verna - wow! You took me down a road I did not expect to go. Very touching, you are a blessed woman of strength and I only wish I could meet with you this side of heaven. I learn so much from your obvious love and strength in the Lord. I am looking forward to that ultimate touch. Blessings to you! T.Respond to this comment

Meeting her and Paul was a highlight of my year this year! The waiter thought we'd never leave (close to 3 hours yacking and not nearly enough time!)

THanks for sharing your heart here "Verna"- for the insights into the depth of your loss, and the comfort you received in word and touch from your husband. I guess your son was named after you?Respond to this comment

Thanks for your comment. Yes, he was named after both of us. His name was Vernon Paul. The birth announcements came out with an announcement of a new baby boy, with his name, and signed by Verna'n' Paul Mull.

PS Here I love to eat cheese with rich fruit cake, such as at Christmas. My Grandfather was keen on this combination too. Great title for your article.Respond to this comment
