What Time Is It?

by Cheery Blossom(28)

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, they word is settled in heaven.

What time is it? How often do we ask this question? Most of us have watches, but often they do not agree. How can we be assured that the time is correct?

I was reading that correct time comes from an observatory where the time is constantly checked by the stars. This is the time that we receive when we call to check out the time, and to set our watches... The stars never vary, because they were made by God who never changes.

No matter how good our watches might be, they will never be as accurate as the stars. The stars are the perfect chronometer.

God has given us the stars to correct our time. He has also given us 2 other chronometers to guide our lives. If each of us went by our own watch for several years, the whole world would become very disorderly, but by checking the time of the stars, we can have some order to our lives.

What are the other chronometers which God has given as our guides? The Bible has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the perfect chronometer, and expression of God’s will for us. It is a totally reliable guide, to lead us through this life, and to eternity. God’s Word never changes, and what beautiful promises He has recorded for those that love Him and obey. It is a perfect, timely guide for our lives.

To understand the chronometer concept, read Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, which is a specific “time” chapter of the Bible. God points out the importance of time for the various activities of life. Between the pages of God’s Word, we are told these times as He speaks to us through His Word.

The other chronometer that God has provided for our lives is our conscience. Now, the conscience can be seared, when man stubbornly seeks his own way; but it is very reliable to follow if we are in tune with God’s Word, and His will.

We are not all led alike, but each of us is responsible to live up to the things that God places within our consciences, and continue to grow in Him..

What time is it?

II Corinthians 6:2 For he says, “In the time of my favor, I heard you, and in the day of salvation, I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, and now is the day of salvation.

Let’s trust the Author of our time; and allow Him to Guide us. We must trust Him to keep all of our chronometers in tune with Him, and in line with His perfect will and time... He can only do this as we allow Him to have all of us.
