Jesus Calms Our Storm

Luke 8:22-25 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples; and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

v. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep; and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

v. 24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water and they ceased, and there was calm

V.25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! For he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

In one of “those days,”

When life takes a sharp turn;

Jesus slept soundly

As there came a huge storm.

The disciples were fearful

As the ship filled with water.

They woke the Master;

He wondered why all the bother?

Jesus rebuked the wind.

The raging waters became calm.

The disciples were reproved,

Was their faith nearly gone?

In awe they stood

And marveled one to one.

The power they had seen,

And the marvels He had done.

Sometimes in our lives

Life seems to throw us a curve.

Existence problems

Untangle every nerve.

We too are fearful,

Until on our Savior we call;

But in His deep love

He’s able to conquer them all.

We must cling on to our faith no matter what comes our way. God has promised that all things work together for good to those who are in Christ Jesus. Hold tightly to His hand when we meet one of “those days.”
