My Reigning Ruler

by Marijo Phelps(180) Red Star

We are having exceedingly blustery weather and have been for some time. March is usually our snowiest month in this part of Colorado (for number of inches) and we have had barely any dustings. Looks like our drought is continuing and I am losing count. Is this 12 of the last 13 years we have had terrible drought or 13 of the last 14 by now? The area "bubblers" are really low or not putting out any water at all. Fire season has begun way too early with 4 fires in 4 days a week ago. this poem came out of my ponderings. Focusing on whose I am and where I am - gave me encouragement!

Month of March

Full of lions
Gusty gales
ROARING, raging

No lamb laying
In mountain meadows
Golden grasses
Frosted freeze dried

THE LAMB lives
Lord within me
Master mighty
Healer of heart

ROARING, raging
Not empty wind
Savior reigning
O’re me, my sin
