"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strentgthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him."
~ 2 Chronicles 16:9
God is the active participant in the lives of humanity. He is not stoic nor is He cold. He does not take pleasure in watching us fall into traps, trials, or temptations, for He knows our strength without Him is weak, and He knows that we are but dust EVEN at our best and highest performance.
Yet, He welcomes us to Himself only by the provision that we come on His terms. The blood-stained dress and apparel of the Lamb must also stain our dress (our walk, our demeanor, and our patterns of approach to God). This 'awareness' and 'knowing' of God as so CENTRAL and so NEAR, will place a gravitation in our hearts towards Him in the display of our obedience to His very words of life. He watches man with INTENTION just as He watched Hagaar and Ishmael in the wilderness, just as he perceived Elijah's silent cry in the cave, and just as He visited the widows, the sick and the leper in the hour of despair. Not many would stoop so low to SEE them as beloved, lovely, or even wanted.
But our God, El Roi, "The God who sees", has searched for and long-sought out men and women who would draw nigh unto Him. Every visitation would be different; every heart response would be offered up in their unique way. Then, we may we exclaim with the Psalmist, "Such knowlege is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it!" Psalm 139
OVERWHELMING. The Lord perceives us and our personalities from afar. He will meet us. He will come to us. He longs to be EMMANUEL, God with us.
Lord,
Give me this awareness that you are near to me. Let me feel your eyes upon my life. Let me come to you with the right response. Give me a heart that is open and that will honor your near presence.
Amen.
*For personal devotion, Psalm 139 (whole chapter) would be great to study and worship with.

Good to see your posting! Welcome! I am so glad that god sees us! Our pastor recently did a study on this at the Ladies meeting (Invisable Women) and Used Sari and Haggar as examples in a different way - this amplified and added to her teaching! THANKS
