Prepare! (part 3)

by Christine Dawson

7. We, too, could experience regular Sabbath rest if we PREPARED for it.

In Exodus 16, meals were prepared for 2 days. Devout Jews celebrated the Sabbath. If we do not take time to rest, we are in sin. Preparation Day is to prepare for a Day of Rest. (It was before the Sabbath) We need to bring back our Sabbath and prepare for it.

Revelation 12:6 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Revelation 12:14 14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

8. God has PREPARED for us, even when we’re in a desert.

He saw it coming. Sometimes we can’t get to our Promised Land until we go through a desert.

Hosea 2:14-15 14Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. 15And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

Achor, in this verse means, “trouble”

In a desert, He reserves the right to reveal Himself in ways He doesn’t, in our Promised Land. If we sit there and wish we were somewhere else, we’ll miss what God is saying to us. Our valley of trouble will become our door of Hope if we allow God to speak to and comfort us. Let Him speak tenderly to you in your desert.

9. Ultimately, all this PREPARATION is to have us PREPARED as a bride for her Bridegroom.

Revelation 19:5-9 5And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The bride has to make herself ready.

Revelation 21:2 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

The Holy City PREPARED!
