There are some fruits that are good all year long. There are others that are seasonal and available during certain seasons throughout the year. There is a purple “ passion fruit ” that is native to southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina. It is also widely grown in California. It also comes in other varieties as well. It is a vigorous vine like climbing plant. Pruning is necessary to keep the vine within bounds. It prefers a frost- free environment and they are known to be usually quite tasty.
The vines of Palestine were celebrated for the huge luxurious clusters of grapes they produced. The vine is used often as a metaphor in the Scriptures to represent happiness and peace. The vine is a valuable plant referenced in both the Old and New Testaments. The first time a vine is mentioned is in Genesis. When Moses sent the twelve spies into the “ Promised Land ” one of the things that they noticed was, the huge humongous grapes that were growing on the vine. They brought some back as a demonstration to show that “ It is a good land that the Lord our God is giving us.” Fruit is used to illustrate many principles throughout the scriptures.
There is a wonderful passion Fruit in particular that I want to focus on, which also comes from the Vine as well. This Fruit is available all year long. It is non perishable, nourishing and helps you to grow spiritually healthy. All in all this Vine yields the best passion Fruit possible! In order to become accustomed to the quintessence of this Fruit one must be prepared to get use to painful pruning. Another interesting thing about this Fruit is in order for this Fruit to flourish you must stay connected to the Vine. This Fruit then naturally becomes manifested in one’s life when they are connected to the Vine.
Webster defines Passion; an intense driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction. Ardent affection; strong liking or desire towards the object or activity. The Passion of Christ is known as the sufferings the night of His Last Supper and up until the time before His death. This was a time of intense prayer, meditation and suffering that displayed His passion for what lie ahead!
In order to become successful spiritually, personally as well as professionally one must have a passion for whatever it is they are doing! This is also where your motivation comes from. To persevere through the pruning or whatever other obstacles arise you will emerge victoriously.
To acquire this particular passion Fruit I spoke of earlier you must first have a sincere desire to stay connected to the Vine. Jesus Christ is that Vine! John says “I am the true Vine , and my Father is the Gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, so that it will be even more fruitful." Here is what The Word of God says about this passion Fruit; “ But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." Galatians 5 " O taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the man that trusts in HIM.” Psalm 34
