Friends in High Places
by
Marijo Phelps(180)
Humble and lowly, we need to focus on what and who we are and what Jesus calls us to be to have “friends in high places”. What better promise could there be. We don’t need to be superwoman (or man)
We don’t need to strive or fuss and fume. We need to turn loose and allow our Jesus to make us more like Him. He is with us always. He is our strong tower. He will never vary in His support for us, always being there on our behalf, always, not if we are the winner, although we often are because we are on His team. It isn’t all about US, it is all about Him. We are weak but He is strong.
(Isaiah 57:15) "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones." KJV
We don’t have to wrestle or manhandle or take anything into our own hands to do with our own strength. This gives us a whole new snapshot of “let go and let God….”, doesn’t it?
2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My
strength is
made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. NKJV
Dear Lord Jesus, please help us to internalize the fact that we need to allow You to be strong on our behalf, that it is OK to be lacking and weak because that is when we can see you in all your majesty arise strong on our behalf. Thanks You Lord Jesus! AMEN
