When?

WHEN?

I have an appointment. Now that probably is not an unusual statement, as everyone’s life seems so loaded with appointments. (We must be at the Doctors at 1:00; we must pick up the children at their school at 3:00. We must cook supper, and have it read by 5:30 so we can get Johnny to Soccer by 6:30.)

Now, that is what is unusual about my appointment. You see, I was given this appointment when I was 13 years of age, and I have not had that appointment to this date.

You see, the appointment did not have a specific time involved when it was given to me.

You guessed it. The appointment was made at the time that I had given my heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ. All Jesus told me was “Matthew 24:44 be ye also ready, for in such an n hour as you think not, the Son of man cometh." KJV

In Matthew 24:45a. We are told to be a faithful and wise servant, and verse 24:46 states, “Blessed is that servant, whom, when his Lord cometh, shall find so doing.”

Now God’s Word is full of instructions of what Jesus expects to find us doing when He comes again, or chooses to take me Home. I do not know when the clock strikes, if this is the time or not. All I know for sure, “This is one appointment which I do not want to miss, do you?

God has left us many commandments

Of the way which He wants us to live.

He’s told of our duties to others,

And how His love we must give.

He hasn’t left us to our efforts;

But walked with Grace and Love by our side,

Holds us up when we have stumbled;

And will always be our Great Guide.

This is the greatest of appointments.

He’ll open up wide, Heaven’s gates.

All trials and tears will be over.

At this appointment we won’t be late.

Dear Lord, examine my life today. I pray I am standing the test. When you come to greet me, please help me to have done my best.
