IT’S EASTER
It was a long kept Jewish tradition,
To roll up the napkin by their plate;
If they were coming back to eat,
Or it would be removed, and be too late.
So, our Savior folded His face napkin,
As He left His cold,drear tomb.
A message to His disciples
To know this wasn’t His doom.
He was coming back in victory!
They would see His presence again,
And walk with Him and talk with Him,
Just as His presence with them had been.
He arose,spent time with them in communion
And ate, along the Sea of Galilee.
He explained to them, He would go to God;
But, would send them a Gift that was free.
As they saw Him ascend, they waited
Prayerfully, in the upper room.
The Gift of the Spirit descended,
No longer were they filled with gloom.
Jesus had left an awesome task,
His love they were told to share.
On the day His Gift arrived,
5000 people accepted Him there.
And now, this roll has been passed
To the hands of you and me.
He’s coming again for the final time,
And then, with our Jesus, we’ll be!
It’s our commission to be ready,
And to spread the good news to man.
Give others a chance to accept our Christ,
For this is our Savior’s only plan.
This could be the last Easter
We don’t know when His Glory fills the sky.
Let’s not let anyone miss their chance,
And our Savior pass them by!
