Verna Mull has had the desire to write poetry and stories for many years. The pen name, Cheery Blossom, comes from the fact that her mother intended to give her that name when she was born. When the Dr. thought that her mother said "Cherry Blossom", he laughed at the name ,and stated that she must be Indian. (Verna was born in the month of May, when the cherry blossoms were in bloom.) Her mother changed the name! She had nothing against Indians, but felt that the Dr. must, and she didn't like him laughing at her. Verna has only a high school education, is 78 years old, and finally, giving a whirl to the thing that has always been a deep desire.

Verna married at the age of 18. Most of the couples life has been spent farming, but they are now retired, and have celebrated their 60th.wedding anniversary. God has blessed the couple immensely, and led them through the accidental death of their son, when he was 18 years old. They have one daughter, 4 grand children, and 6 great grandchildren.

Verna's greatest desire is to bring praise to her Lord and Savior, hoping to bring others into the relationship with her Lord, that has sustained and blessed the couple. Verna and husband, Paul, have spent 3 weeks each year, for the past 8 years, ministering in the little country of Ukraine, and plan to go again this year if it is God's will.
